I am interested in starting a new coin collection, this is what I need from the collection.. Easy to obtain BU's, moderate prices (ex: I dont want to pay $10.00 for a penny) I just want a set that will be fun and a great learning experience for me to start collecting with..

You should be able to start collecting anything modern. Like post 1964 quarters, dimes, nickles, etc.

Or, just collect a silver Roosevelt dime set. They are easy to get BU coins, they don't cost that much, and their silver. :P

Roosevelt dimes would be a good place to start. Depending on how much you want to spend on storage you could keep the costs down even more.

Franklins are a nice collection with few key dates and those are not very expensive. You could also consider a short set of Walkers (1940's), or a date set of Morgans. Uncirculated Morgans can be had for very reasonable prices these days and they are easy to find. If you avoid the CC's, you could have a very reasonably priced, BU collection of these.

Mercury dimes are fun so are Lincoln Cent? And the LC you find at your local bank for .50 cents a roll

I think a short set of Lincoln cents would be a good set for a YN because you can still get them at face value at the banks. Another small set I am trying to get my daughter to put together is a complete set of SBA's, there aren't many coins at all and they are still super cheap even if you do BU and Proof set you could probably do a whole set for far less than 50 bucks. I don't know if any of these will interest you or not but if you decide to do the SBA's I have a few rolls (different dates) that have been busted opened that I would be willing to send you for a start of this set, they are BU not Proof but a start is a start

Sacagawea's are pretty easy to complete in BU, and inexpensive too. I managed to get my entire set at face plus shipping from a forum member. If you want your coins in BU, then it'll be impossible to go for nice classic coins. But if you can live with them being circulated, braided hair large cents in lower grades are actually quite affordable.

For $10 per coin or less for BU, you could make a very nice set of "One From Each Country" moderns right now. Euros might work for you. As Boz suggested, themes of world coins (lions, cats, birds, ships, landscapes - there are so many to choose from) would be a fun and easy collection.

There are many possibilities. What designs appeal to you? What kind of coins are easy for you to obtain? Collect whatever makes YOU happy
