What would you grade the obverse on this one. This is seller's picture, thinking of buying it. I realize the picture is not the best, but based on the photo your best guess...

Kind of hard to tell from these pictures, but I would say MS-62/63

A lot of the GSA are pretty bag marked and dinged up, luster looks good though, probably grade out MS-61 to MS-63.

I wouldn't buy it based on that picture, and I won't hazard a guess. This is not how you buy coins.

Quote: SuperDave: I wouldn't buy it based on that picture, and I won't hazard a guess. This is not how you buy coins. Got to agree with Dave, but this is about how my 1878-CC VAM11 looked onscreen, when I bought it, if the price is right, it's worth a shot BUT ONLY - if the seller has good feedback, none of their photos are any good, (not trying to hide something on one coin), and they are willing to accept returns, and you have the $$ to tie up waiting for the auction to end and the coin to be delivered. For CC dollars they are pretty common, there is always a better one out there until you get into MS66 slabbed territory for most of them. I'd pass on this coin unless it was really cheap, like stupid cheap, and that is just not happening now on ebay anymore.

I can get it for $150.00. I realize there is risk involved. The seller has good feedback and accepts returns, but I still think I'll wait for another one.

Why not ask the seller for a clearer photo? If they are interested in a sale, they would do it. It only takes a minute to snap a photo and email it to you. They don't need to update the listing right away, if they don't want to.

If I needed this date I would certainly be tempted at $150. You would be out shipping cost if you decided to return it but unless the reverse has problems I'd expect a good shot at MS-63. Sure, there are better examples out there but the price is very good, especially if the original box and cert are included.

I think it might be as high as MS-63. $150 is a good price for a GSA morgan.

I'd do like the others said and email the seller for a better pic. If they dont send one then I would pass on this coin.
