This is precisely the type of coin I love to own. He called this a Choice Fine.

Beautiful coin! Is LIBERTY complete on this coin? I know the standards for these have been loosened in the last couple of years and I can't tell from the pic (probably due to the toning).

Got to love those 20 cent pieces! Here's one I recently acquired. Unfortunately not a CC but I think I'll keep it anyway. Image: 20c.jpg90.06 KB

SE, that's a nice coin. It doesn't appear from the picture to have been messed around with too much. Nice detail.

Nice piece! It certainly is a strong fine. In this issue the liberty was weakly struck and wore out quickly. A full readable Liberty is technically required only for a VF and above, and by some grading companies only for an XF and above. The CC mint makes it special. Very hard to find an undamaged one in this scarce series. Congrats!

Excellent coin. The one I own (S mint mark) is nowhere as nice as that but, just being a 20 cents piece makes it a keeper. Nice find!

Prethen, have you purchased from JEL before and if you have, is this the typical quality of his coins and have you been satified with your purchases? I was looking at the ad in Numismatic News and he has some nice coins I need for my type collection, but I would like to know a bit more about the dealer and his coins first.

JEL is a great dealer. He'll be honest about his coins, but you'll need to talk to him. He won't put in his ads (due to time and space limitations) if the coin is original or has some very minor problems. I always ask him for completely original, problem-free, eye appealing material. Sometimes he just says, this coin is not for you. You gotta respect his honesty. I've never been steered wrong yet by him.

Thanks Prethen, that is what I was hoping you would say. He sounds like a good, old fashioned mail order dealer, and not some modern huckster selling doctored and damaged stuff(too many of that type around ). I think that I will try to throw some of my business his way.
