OK I figured I'd try my hand at grading a Morgan. These seem really tough to learn\grade...there's so much to them. I think this coin is possibly in the low to mid AU range. So I'm interested in your opinions and any thing I can learn when looking at and trying to grade these.

The third pic is an anomaly in the surface at one o'clolc. I've manipulated the image to accentuate the anomaly so the color and luster seem way off. Its almost a complete change in luster (more mirror like than the rest of the surface). What makes me think its not man mad is that its an exact box that starts at the rim on both sides of the word "OF" and frames in the word. The bottom stops almost precisely under the "ust" of the word trust, although its not as precise of a line as the sides. I looked briefly through the 1921 Morgan VAMs and didn't find anything that look like they matched this...so not sure what to think.

It's a tough call based on these images; although it could well be a Mint State coin, my gut tells me you're correct in believing it's AU. Better than "low to mid," though.

That patch of brightness isn't uncommon on 1921's. I've seen more than a few with such a feature in that area, including Denver coins. It's an anomaly, but not VAMworthy on its' own.
Rest in Peace

AU would need better focused shots of entire obverse and reverse to get more acurate on the grade.
