I have learned from reading here on CCF that you have to be very careful when buying a Trade dollar due to the counterfeiting.

I know that I should look for a graded one by PCGS, NGC or ANACS. I have been looking at a few on E-Bay in the $250.00 to $350.00 range, which I also know may not be the best place to buy one.

I am sure the cheaper ones are counterfeited also so where should I turn to buy one. There are no dealers around here so the Internet is my only option. Anyone know a trusted dealer I can turn too?

I bought this one raw from Harlan J. Berk back in 2009 for $115. Although the rim ding holds it back some I still think it was a decent deal. In my 7070 the ding is barely noticeable.

Someone mentioned http://cheapslabs.com/shop/index.php

They have slabs from the Top III TPGers and several not so reliable guys. Buy with caution as always.

I am still looking for one myself for my 7070.

I would recommend Great Southern Coins.

I have bought several high priced [$300 to $900]
unslabbed coins from them with complete confidence.
However, the Trade dollars require caution no matter from whom you buy.

The link below will take you to their ebay page. Currently there are three examples for sale.
At the very least, they offer very decent photos which you might use for study.
