Every time I leave the house to go somewhere other than the typical daily destinations (groceries, consumables, work, etc.) I contemplate the value of having my loupe with me. It's like a crutch I never knew I needed.

I always have a loop and 2x2 magnifier in my car, don't spend any new change till I look at it.

Carry one most of the time in case I get a splinter. Also, a tweezers in case I get a splinter. Otherwise, no use for one.

Quote: => just carl, let me guess, you collect wooden nickles ? :-) So that is where those come from. In reality I go to flea markets about 2 to 3 times a week. Coin shows 2 to 3 a Month. In addition to those I also go to camera shows, computer shows, gun and knife shows and lots of other similar places. I also try to make it to as many garage/yard/estate sales as possible. Due to this I really never know just when I need magnification so I really have magnifying glasses to wear, a 3 or 4 X magnifyer, a 14X one also. With so many small things around those places it really pays to carry those. No need when the item says Made in China. For some reason that is never attempted to be hidden.

Never (I always forget it when I know I'll need it). Every time I've needed one at a show/shop the dealer has had one tough.

All of the time! My co-workers don't think it's weird since we are aircraft engine inspectors. My wife (as her eyes begin rolling)...that's another story. I keep my 10x loupe on a foot long lanyard so I don't lose it (again).

I can't carry what I don't own.

Only when going to coin shows. Any change I get, I look at it when I get home. I have enough things in my pockets and don't need one more. Plus it would get extra wear on it, that it doesn't need.

Absolutely, a cheap 10x Lighthouse loupe. I buy them buy the dozen, have lost many over the years, my "contribution" to the hobby!
