hello,

I hate to be one of those single topic posters on a forum, but I came across a 2007 toonie that is struck off center and I'm having trouble finding the value of it (I'm assuming somewhere around $2.00) I was just wondering if it would be worth my time to try and sell it, or if I should just put it back into circulation and let someone else rack their brain as to what it is.

thank you for your help.

Hello etrash2010.

Thanks for posting pictures of this error coin. It looks like it could be a good one. An offcenter error on a toonie is pretty uncommon. It would be worth your trouble to sell it. The wholesale value should be $100 ~ 200. Possibly more.

wow, I had no idea it could be worth that much. I know the Mods might get testy about this, but how does one go about selling collectable coins, and does anyone on here know of a person/place in Southern AB (Lethbridge Area) that I could talk to about getting a solid price/coin grade on this Toonie. (I'm in University, so 100-200 would have me in beer and Kraft Dinner for a couple weeks)

Thanks again.

The grade doesn't matter too much on an error like this so I wouldn't worry about getting it graded. As a new poster you cant do business here, but I am sure there are people on this site who would be quite interested in this coin. Perhaps they will provide details on how to get in touch.

It does look like a big scratch on the queen. As an offcenter error, the diameter is larger than a normal toonie. - It may have been mangled in a coin counting machine at some point in it's life. Unfortunate, but it shouldn't affect the value much. It's still an awesome error!

yes, there is a big scratch below the queen and and there are three scratches in "CANADA" that look like hyphens so "CANADA" looks like CAN-A-D-A.

I love finding toonies errors like this. In a few years when my jar gets full I'll pick out the good ones and probably release the rest or trade/sell them.
