Did you pay for these or inherit them? if you did pay for them is it rude to ask how much? After seeing a few more photos of the 1946 I think the colour is wrong, especially on the obverse. The other pairs of 46 and 25 look OK. Photos are improving.

To the sceptics out there. These coins are from a genuine deceased estate. I'm not trying to sell them, I am just wanting to know what I have here before I lose out through my own lack of knowledge on this subject. I am a 2nd hand dealer so though I have bought silver coins and old notes in the past, I have had very little experience with pennies and thought that they were not worth much but upon researching today I saw a few that were worth something and via google found myself checking out the fake 46 thread here. I came by these coins as part of a deceased estate from the daughter of a gentleman who had this shoebox under his bed. I only bought it because it had the 2x pre decimal notes and because I collect silver. Even after reading about the copies on the market and seeing them on e-bay I am still 100% sure that these coins are genuine. Why am I so convinced? Well the coins were all rolled up in butchers paper and old newspaper. The newspaper is dated 1965. Were they faking them back then? Doubt it. And just in case you think, ahh anyone can roll a coin up in an old bit of newspaper with some other old coins to trick a beginner, the newspaper was so brittle that once I unrolled it, it could not be re-rolled, it practically fell apart when I touched it. Also the lady wasn't asking much money so thats another reason why I 100% believe all these coins are genuine. Anyway, like I said, I didn't come here to try to sell them but to learn which ones might be worth what and how to grade them somewhat and any help in that regard is much appreciated. When I learn how to photograph coins, (i had no idea it would be so tough)

LostnFound. If your camera has a macro setting you will get better pics if you use that. The last 2 pics you posted were'nt too bad. If you can take better pictures of the coins there are plenty that will help you value them.

As far as I can tell from your pics so far,the 2 x 46's look genuine looking at the weak 19 & strong 46 & the one on the left looks much better than average. The 25's look good too,the one on the right looks much better but better pics are essential. Looks like you got a real good lot there. Oh & try not to handle the coins with bare hands, cotton gloves will stop the oils etc transfering from your hands to the coin.

It is a very nice lot you have got onto. I would love to get a find like that. If the 46 in the first few photos has not been touched up as I had previosuly suggested it is a very high grade and is worth quite a lot of money.
There seems to be lots of pennies looking at the box you have. I'm jealous you get to sort them all.
If I were you I would be looking for any pre 1936 coins with full 8 pearls, especially the 1914, 15, 18, 26 and 31. In EF grade they jump a lot in value.
If you have any 1933 coins I also suggest searching this forum for something called a 1932/33 overdate which can be worth a bit and then checking your coins to see if you have one.
The 2x brown 1946 and 2x 1925 would have to add up to at least $300 so if you paid less than that you're already doing very well I think.
Maybe these pennies can swing you away from silver and into copper, far better looking IMO. The 1911-36 penny is the best looking coin Australia has had to date.

do you have a tripod to use when taking the pics? it does help if you are not holding the camera. and maybe try using natural light from the sun now its day time. but a list could be helpful in helping you. as far as cleaning goes try soaking them in water for a few days, sterilised water or something like that they use. and dipping into pure acetone will remove grease and oils which can blacken a coin. and check your local reject shop or similar, they often have little lens that attach to camera phones that can be used for close up or long distance pics, never used one but I have seen them in our local cheapie shops.

Good morning Erkle, thank you for all your help thus far. I have been searching the forums to try and learn what to look out for. I've found 2X 39 roo's in good cond, well they look it to me lol. A 48 y dot. I think the only earlier 1's with 8 pearls are a couple of 36's. I think I've got the bug now lol

It's very slow using the optimiser on here to get my pics to fit so i'll post this up while I'm waiting. Got some much better pics in the natural daylight so I've got lots to put up.
