Just recently received an email from Whitman that the 2013 Red Book is now ready for ordering. Should be out in April, as usual.
Rest in Peace

Yea! I didn't buy the 2012 and my 2011 is falling apart! I'm a newbie and I look everything up -- over and over again.

HOPEFULLY this one will be a lot better. The 2012 version was almost like a reprint of the 2011. Think Whitman is getting lazy.

Hi Buddy. Do you get the spiral version? That should help make it last longer, if you are getting the book with the spine and backstrip.

I think I'll stick with the 2012 for awhile since my previous Red Book is from 1962. I get a new one every 50 years whether I need it or not.

If I can get it for $10 or less I will. It's handy to have on the road and at shows. One of the cheapest, but most valued supplies a US coin collector needs, IMO. I just donate the previous version to a book drive or coin club that wants it, the book itself has no sentimental value, and gets pretty battered after a few months anyway, particularly the spiral editions.

Not the best thing to do. They change info about every 25 years so you should consider getting one at least that often.

The spiral version can definitely take a beating. My earliest hardcovers are in really bad shape; my oldest spiral has seen a lot of use, but is still in great shape.

I usually get one every couple of years. I think I'm on the odd cycle, so maybe this is the year.

There is more information contained in the RedBook than in most coin books IMHO! Read it, learn it, you will be more knowledgeable than 70% of the dealers at shows. It's way more than just coin pricing.

I agree the spiral bound edition is great!

If you want to save a little, the Walmart Book web site has the 2011 Paper Back version Red Book for $8.65.
The Hardcover is $11. The 2012 Hard cover version is only $9.34 and the 2012 Blue Book is $6.08
That place is about the cheapest I've found except for coin shows.
Rest in Peace

Amazon has 2011 for $4.21 and 2010 for $0.74, plus shipping.
