I like that polished blank with just the name engraving. Plain an simple, but sometimes plain an simple work....
Also, those new kangaroo rounds are beautiful as well. I love that simple outline on the horizon and extended shadow, a brilliant design IMO....

@SilverBug: My wife did the same :) Going to offer it to my folks. If they are not interested then we would see if we can flip it on ebay. @Canadaian: Too late again, it's an excellent doorstop :P

You can get a gold Ural owl for under $100. It's 5 grains, or 1/96 of an oz.

poboxw, That is a very impressive collection you have amassed there. Your son has a chance on inheriting a family heirloom for generations to come. Now the trick is keeping the collection intact. Being that we are talking precious metals, hopefully there will never be a need to sell any portion of such a exquisite collection. Your son is very lucky. Not just the financial windfall he will inherit, but that his father thought enough to build this collection just for him. Congratulations.

True Dat Rasta really nice thought and plan and collection...
Silverbug, well done that is one amazing collection as well. I counted 75 oz. rounds there, all real nice high quality, and that gilded Britannia set blew me away....
Also those last four Russian ballet coins, are they all from the Russian platinum family?

@rastatodd: Thanks. I will save all the comments on this page to show him how lucky he is when he eventually becomes an ungrateful dunce in his teens.
SilverBug's collection is much more complete! I gave up trying to do so because the time and moneys involved (especially for that panda set you got there), and opted to just pick out a representative from each country, or mint, or series. One of them Russian ballet silver rounds is still on my list. Also still missing some African, Eastern European, and East Asian bullion rounds
@biggfred: I've seen that 5 grain gold owl... at least I think I can see it :) it's so small I was holding my breath afraid i'd blow it away on exhale.

I have a 21 year old daughter who has already asked me who will get the bars and rounds, when I meet the end of the road. I asked her if it's alright if I let her know later, being I'm only 48 years old. And in good health!
