Hello guys, I'm completely new to 'coins', returned from Kaliningrad area with these ones, had a browse at a Standard Catalog of World Coins but would love some confirmation. Listed on this post are images of the coins followed by excerpts from the Catalog of the coins which I believe they probably are.

First off a 10 Reichspfenning from 1929 -
Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins
Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins

Second; a Pfenning from 1913 -
Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins
Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins

Third; 50 Kopeks from 1922 & two from 1924 -
Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins
Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins

&

Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins
Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins

...and finally five of the same coin from 1707 which I'm most excited about:

Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins

Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins
Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins
Deutsch-&-Prussian-Coins

So I'm pretty confident on some of these findings, I suppose I'd just like to ask you guys. I am also looking to part with these coins, so I will find the appropriate forum topic for that when I know exactly what they are. I am based in London and was considering approaching coin collectors in the region, but I wonder if I could be advised as to the next steps I should take to part with these coins? (online, collector etc)

Thanks for your time

Hello, reub, and welcome!
I don't think there's much to add to your IDing efforts. Disposing of the coins is a different thing.
My question to you, would you call the 50 kopek pieces "Deutsch" or "Prussian"?

Seems that you have nailed them all.

I would suggest selling them on ebay. You would get a lot of exposure. You can sell them off individually or as a group with either a Buy IT NOW price or the Auction style.

Welcome to this forum! Good luck on the sales!

Cajunlady0,

Very cool forum, cheers for your tips, ebay seems like a good option. Though I do feel tempted to begin collecting after looking at some of these posts. We'll see.

Cheers,

reub

Coins like this of this era are interesting and are a great touchstone to history. They help you connect with all that went on there almost 100 years ago.

They are however also very plentiful and ebay seems to distort the market for coins because of it's great exposure. I find that common coins need to be in absolutely mint condition to get anywhere near catalogue estimates. Common coins in bad condition just won't sell. Rare coins or wonderfully preserved examples will probably exceed their catalogue estimate.

While selling on ebay and elsewhere brings it's own rewards - it's great fun - I think you might be a bit disappointed in trying to sell these there - so I'd just hand on to them and enjoy them.
