I need some help with a 1900, no H, Canada Large Cent. It almost looks too good and I would like help making sure it is not a reproduction. I've included a couple of pictures of the both the obverse and reverse. Under magnification I can see a die crack on the reverse, through the vine, above and slightly to the right of the O in one. Also, there is an odd raised area also on the reverse that starts at the E in ONE and curves down down to the 0 in 1900. Thanks.

There is an H on the coin. Right under the middle leaf on the reverse.

Looks to be the "H" version in VF20, no reason to worry about it being to good to be true or anything. Look problem free.

jblack0815,

Your coin is not a reproduction it has turned dark over the years as copper will do.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your help.

Does anyone have any insight as to the "bulged" area on the reverse? Is it important to the value?

Your coin is the H (Heaton Mint)type. Unlike the other H types, this one has the H at the rim, not right below the date.
Most 1900 and 1901 cents are slightly concave on the obverse and convex on the reverse, leaving the queen's portrait with less wear than the other side. The bulge you see is caused by too much pressure from the obverse die, leaving an impression of the queen's chin between the 0 and the T.

Your coin appears to have corrosion among the leaves, and since it's not the scarcer no H type, it's not worth getting certified. Worth about $3 with that corrosion.
