Hello,

I have a question about this set (the one with the Sacagawea dollar, Silver Eagle, and dollar bill). What I don't understand is, I see this set going for ~70 dollars on multiple websites; however, when I go on ebay, the graded (MS69) Silver Eagle from this set quite often sells for over $100, sometimes even $200. Can someone explain to me where the premium comes from? Is it from just the grade?

Simple enough to answer:

the cost to grade the sac or the eagle is $14 + $16.95 for shipping (there might even be a handling fee of $8... I forget)...Which makes getting any of these coins in a PCGS holder or NGC holder a +$30-$40 proposition. The run of the mill Eagle could grade MS-69, but just as many come back MS-68 or lower. So, you can pay a premium and get a certain grade (assuming that it's fair and correct) or you can take a chance and buy a set sight unseen and get raw coins and a dollar bill.

Thank you for the explanation cc99999. I have never sent in any coins for grading, and didn't realize it was so costly to do so.
Rest in Peace

Mine is just a put-together set the bill IS from the set for the serial number the ASE is a roll issued coin and the Sac is a Philly also from a roll, but they work for me! I just picked up a 2000 mint set and 2000 proof set from our auction section with Pocket It Now will see about making the set a bit larger! Here's a pic;
