Hi, Having just joined the forum this is my first post so please forgive me if I make any mistakes.
I have collected a full set of 7 Lance Armstrong hand signed PCSG Silver Eagles from the American Hero Series. 1999-2000-2001-2002-2003-2004-2005. I know what I paid over the years for each individual coin, but I have no idea what the value is of the complete set. Also as I live in the UK I would not have an idea how I would sell them, as I think there would be more of an interest in the US. I was even considering bringing them over to Vegas on an upcoming trip to see what the Pawn Stars shop from the TV show would value them at!
I can't find any full sets on the Internet anywhere for sale to get an idea. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

PCSG? Assuming they're real, they're probably worth the bullion value of the silver or maybe a small premium. There is no US Mint product called the "American Hero Series", so they're just an after-market repackaging of American Silver Eagles. Maybe they're worth more to a big cycling fan assuming the signatures are real.

Got to agree with the capt. there. The coins are basically worth bullion value to a coin collector, or about $40.00 each. The Lance Armstrong signature adds no numismatic value, only potential value to a Lance fan or cycling enthusiast.

Oh, and Pawn Stars would probably give you no more than at most 80% of bullion value.

It is PCGS, not PCSG. The differentiation is important because fraudulent companies have tried to create nonsensical acronyms that imitate legitimate TPG companies. PCGS created the American Heroes series, the coins will have autographed slab labels. As for value, I really have no idea but checking ebay for completed auctions would be your best bet. http://www.pcgs.com/Articles/Detail/4215

Pretty interesting collection. I have never heard of it before. That is a nice gesture of Lance. So now you know their value. Has the price gone up since you bought them? Even though the bullion value has gone up, they are selling way above bullion value now. I hope you did well.

Sounds like he needs to sell them on ebay then. I agree that most dealers would offer bullion value for them. As mentioned they are not in any way an official issue, just a program created by a private dealer who paid PCGS for the special labeling.

I think you could definitely get a premium for them. Maybe not much of one now but definitely in the future. Alot of people collect autographed memorabilia. Lance Armstrong is an icon in the biking world. I would bet there are not many complete sets. I would save it. I think it has alot of future potential.
How is Lance Armstrongs following in Europe? Tour De France is the biggest cycling event in the world. I would assume you could get more of a premium there unless they don't like him due to his dominance of the sport over there :)

If they were mine, and you have all 7 of his championships...I would get them nicely matted and framed with an 8x10 picture of him in the center and a plaque below it "LANCE ARMSTRONG 7 TIME TOUR DE FRANCE CHAMPION...and so on" with all 7 surrounding it. It may cost you $100 or so to do, but you need to appeal to the cyclist collectors not the coin/bullion collectors. This would make a nice display piece for an office or something.

Hi, Thanks to all the people who replied, and yes I wrong it's PCGS not PCSG! I didn't mention the MS69 thing because I didn't realise it was important as I didn't know what it meant! I have now looked it up and I realise it's the grade with MS70 being highest (I hope I've got that right!) I bought them over the years because they were signed by Lance, not really understanding who the PCGS were. I do know that only a limited number were made of each year, and that some years are more rare than others, this is based on the ones that come up for sale. I paid between $100 and $150 each for them but that was when they were released. I do know that some years never seem to come up for sale and I've never seen a complete set, so collectors must be keeping their hands on them. I did believe though that PCGS and Lance Armstrong did officially create the series, this is based on the PCGS website. Any ideas as some posts suggest they didn't? As for Lance's popularity in Europe, he is an unknown in the UK really as cycling is not a popular at all (when I've bought Lance memorabilia in the past, I've got a big collection, people at work have said "wasn't he the first man on the moon" I kid you not!) As for the rest of Europe he is pretty unpopular because he made their so called stars look very ordinary, that's why they continually accused him of doping, it was just jealousy. I go to Paris every year for the final stage and even when he returned and rode his last tour in 2010, when the cheating Spaniard won, it was still mainly the non mainland European fans that were cheering the loudest. (one for each of his seven yellow jersey's !

Yes, MS-70 is the highest grade.
That must be awesome to be at the end of the race, in person.
