what is a price that I should be paying for a VF 1937 $20 common signature and a VF 1937 $1 bill?

Well dude, it always depends upon the variety ...
=> hey, spending $29.95 from Colonial Acres on a "2012 version" of the Canadian Government Paper Money catalogue is money *** Edited by Staff | The bad word filter is in place for a reason. Bypassing the filter and making the intended word obvious anyway is completely unacceptable. *** well spent! (because it is coloured, and it is a absolutely gorgeous catalogue => it's almost as good as having the coins!)
.. anyway ...
=> if you tell me what signatures are on the 1937 bills that you're examining ... oh, and their approximate condition, then perhaps I can give you an estimate ...
Oops sorry ... I just re-read your question => ummm, a generic signature and VF is probably $15-$30 for a one dollar bill ... and $45 - $65 for a twenty

I'm looking on gatewest and I want to know if there prices are accurate and that I'm not paying too high. And it was just the basic more common signature. Not sure what one it was though. thanks And the conditions are in the original post^^^

If you have a Chapter's or Indigo in your city, try going there, that's where I always get mine. (or you could order it online from there)

concollect1, you should be going to the coinshows in your area, then you can shop for the nicest bill at the best best price from each dealer, these are not tough banknotes and the dealers will deal. Just don't wait till the next edition of Charlton's ( this fall ) though; a VF $20 went up $5 in the last year or so.

The public library has books you can use for free and you don't have to keep buying the newest volumes. Some reference books have to stay at the library.

Hey => that's an awesome idea, Bm0ney (I'm a total fan of libraries!)
... however => honestly, that 2012 catalogue is absolutely "awesome" => it has colour photos of the bills that you'll probably never own ... hey, I admit that I bought the "previous" catalogues for no good reason => but this new, colour 2012 catalogue => I'm sorry, it is actually "gorgeous" ... it's a bit like a Life-Book of colour photos!
=> full points Charlton => that'll do pig, that'll do!!

yah ... I must admit that they kinda rock (hey, you will get exactly what you pay for) ... no great deals, but no rip-offs! => NOTE => the live-auctions offer chances for "better" deals ... but at least Colonial Acres will deliver Charlton catalogue no-nonsense deals ... ... oh, and usually even better than normal deals if you're merely trying to buy Royal Canadian Mint products (they seem to own that "stuff") ... man, I should get some sort of a commission for endorsements!

with steve, the colour pics are really nice in the 2012 (can't quote him, he got caught up in the moment and got a spankin' ). Looked at CA's website and thought about buying from them, just tuff to accept full book price, GST and shipping. On a side note, the book ' The Art and Design of Canadian Banknotes ' is interesting and has great colour pics also. http://www.bankofcanada.ca/publicat...venir-books/
