2012 Shield Cent - Is This A Trail Die?

CaptainFwiffo Pillar of the Community United States 4132 Posts	Posted 02/22/2012 12:31 am I am looking through a batch of fresh 2012 cents, and I have two from this die and will probably have more. Is this a weak trail die or just a consequence of die polishing? It's tricky to photograph, but it's not hard to see in hand. It's easiest to see the trails on the date, but they are on other obverse devices also. Report this Post to the Staff

All the 2012 cents I've gotten seem to be from about half a dozen die pairs at most. A different die has some trail-like stuff going on too, but it's dodgier looking. I'll post some pictures of that one after work. Looking at traildies.com, this does look very much like other trail dies for shield cents. @Jayman931 - I'm in SW Florida.
