when selling a complete album like this you would probably get more if you broke up the coins. It would be more work but would net you more money in the end. If selling all together and with it only missing the 1895 I am going to guess it would probably sell for around 12-16,000 dollars if sold on ebay. At a dealer they would offer quite a bit less than this. If you are not an established coin seller on ebay the price may suffer also and in that case I would recommend getting a sellers assistant to sell the coins on ebay for you because that would help get you the maximum amount for your coins

Intersting. $16k wouldnt be bad. I inherited these, and because of that I am hesitant to sell them. The money would be going towards another investment to pass down though so it might be justified.

I cannot believe that Dansco actually has a slot for 1895 It should not even be there since business strikes do not exist, the only way you could fill that hole is with a proof coin that had a mintage of 880.

Fantastic coins! One day very far away I'll be able to move into Morgans!
biokemist - I think Dansco should hire someone who collects coins. Seems that almost every book could use a tune-up.

Great looking set! If you put it in front of me--assuming the reverses match the obverses--I'd pay around 10K on the spot. I'd look for any significant varieties before figuring a final number. The trouble of taking them out and selling them separately might be worth the time. Not for me, but maybe for you.

Thanks for the replies. I probably won't sell them since they were passed down to me. If they were like $100,000 then I would, but just $15,000 I'd rather keep them for sentimental value. It is such a complete set, and even though I'm not into coins, unless their value was life changing, then I will just hold onto them because of who they came from.

Good answer michaelkih. The value of some things tend to surpass monetary value because of who it was from and what that person meant to you. I'm glad to hear you are hanging on to this set and hopefully it will spark a further interest in collecting. You have a great start there. Oh, and !

I agree, sometimes the sentimental value greatly out weighs the monetary value. I have allot of coins that I would never sell that are not worth very much but they were given to me from friends and family so they have a permanent place in my collection as long as I am able to take care of them

You're not getting off to a very good start here, breaking a cardinal forum rule for your first post.
