One of my colleagues found these coins at our work.

Don't know if they have any significance / value. Can anyone tell me?

Cheers

Dave

No, a pharmacy.

Is it worth donating these coins to a museum or something?

Sounds like they might not regard them as very interesting.

Until 1966, these were what you would get in normal change, and have done the rounds themselves - a florin is two shillings which is equivalent to 20 cents. As enworb mentioned (unlike most newer coins) they have some silver in them.

Even though not rare, they would make an interesting keepsake with a historical aspect. While the museum may not be interested in them, listing them on ebay or asking around your friends/family you would have no problems finding someone willing to give them a good home, if you decide you don't want to keep them yourself.

A museum probably wont have any interest in these. They are both common dates with millions minted. They are still cool to someone who may be interested in predecimal coins or even to a younger person who did not see predecimal currency in circulation.

I know when I first started collecting it was exciting to see all the old coins and learn about times gone by.

I would either give them away to some kids you know or flog them off on ebay. You will probably get $10 selling them together.

Then again if they interest you then maybe you should investigate coin collecting a bit more. It really is fantastic!
