Interesting piece of video discovered from around 1920, just found. Enjoy!

Interesting video. There sure were "rough" with those coins. I thought they would have been handled a little more gently. Not an expert on how they are made now versus then, but I know nowadays there is a softer touch through the assembly line at least on the proofs.

I couldn't tell either what coins they were making. Thanks for sharing!

I think they are British Sovereigns. Based on " The Trial of the Pyx" reference it is a U.K. film. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trial_of_the_Pyx

Very interesting video. I kept wondering what they did for security--ensuring that no one slipped a few coins in their pocket.

That dude who "rings" the coins by rapidly throwing them against a metal slab has real skills.

Neat, thanks for sharing. I love the formality in silent movie title cards. "Wealth is apt to take unto itself wings."

Interesting video

However, 1920's film footage + 2000's ElectroRockMixType music = Incongruous Juxtaposition

Well just don't blame me for the music I too found it a strange mix. Got this video in a link from one of my weekly coin blogs I subscribe to. Glad you all enjoyed it too.

Great film, especially for those of us who like old black and white flicks. Who was the moron who dubbed in the techno noise on a 1920 film?

Great music video but what was that weird machinery stuff going on in the background?

I too was impressed with all of the workers who had to manipulate the money, be it by flinging coins at a plate or by shuffling them around on conveyors. Cool stuff.
