One of the reasons they are not to popular. At coin shows where there are dealers that sell coin equipment I have asked about those in the past and told to many problems for them to carry those. Might have been just a bad batch. Might have been on a shelf to long. Regardless, somethings when it comes to coin problem prevention is not worth experimenting.

On another post I came up with the idea of gluing with a glue stick saving the 90% in the difference in price . Found archivale glue, but the it woud not stick to the plastic membrane. I hate stapling and the look after.

I've heard of other people having this kind of problem with self-adhesives, but I've never had problems with 2x2s unless they're fairly new (most of my self-adhesives have been sitting around for a couple of years before I use them) and I don't put the coins away into 2x2 pages straight away.

I do not know if I would make the effort to return them, but that really depends on how much money you have tied up in them.
For the record, other than a small obsession with lining them up, I have no problem using or seeing the staples.

Quote: I got an idea staple them shut. True. Why bother taking them back when you can still use them with a staple. OR you could try a welding torch. That should or might soften the glue on the self sticky area and be usable. Arc Welders start at about 5,000 degrees so that should work. I hate stapling and the look after. Simple solutions to that is purchase what is called White Out in a stationary store and cover the staples with that. Then they will not show as much. Have you tried epoxy glue? Super Glue? Gorilla Glue? Insert your coins in plastic 2x2's and then heat over a stove which should seal them closed. Or just buy and use the same ones as everyone else and staple them. I wonder if there are white staples?

I use Supersafe brand self-adhesives. I did get some that just wouldn't stay stuck. I sent them back and got new ones. What I find is that they come apart sometimes but rarely the mylar sheets. It is the sheet away from the carboard. In other words, the plastic stays sealed like a bubble but the adhesive keeping the plastic to the cardboard sometimes fails. Once they are in 2x2 pages, I don't see any issues - not that they aren't there - I just don't see them
