It's kind of weird. In my prior best nickel roll I found a 1925 Buffalo and a very worn 1943 P War Nickel. Today though, I came across both of these in the same roll. What I'm guessing is an AU 1943 P, and a worn 1912! I'm pretty pleased. What are the odds? I'm curious if anybody can give me a ballpark grade on the new War Nickel below. Thanks!

Those are pretty amazing finds!

I won't even try to guess at the grade -- still too new to the hobby for that, but it seems that Jefferson always gets a scratch on his cheek when he circulates.

Hope your good luck continues!

i would need closer photos of jeffersons bust and montecello to tell the grade exactly but from what I see now it would grade about AU-55.

Nice finds! I'm going AU-something on the 1943-P .... cropped photos showing more coin and less background would be helpful.

Take a good look at that Jefferson date ... interested in determining the 1943/2 variety ... I'm maybe seeing a hint of the overdate in your first photo.

Thanks for sharing.

I have an up close shot, and I had the same thought, nickelsearcher! (David)? I'm a nickel/penny guy. I already have an up close shot of the date, stay tuned on the variety error page, i'd love to hear your input. Thanks everyone!

Josh.
Rest in Peace

I usually buy $10 in nickels and $3 in pennies...I'm 22 and don't have a lot of money! So yesterday, the roll had four brothers. My only other find was a beautiful '99 toner.

It is pretty amazing to still be able to find a 1912 coin out there!

The liberty was a big find for me, its my first. But I've found six War Nickels since I started roll searching about a year ago... Including the au beauty! Was yours the usual beat up 43 P I'm always finding? Hope not! And how come I haven't found a D or S?
