Hello everyone,
First post here - I've read many posts lately and this forum is both enjoyable and informative. I found this recently while roll searching and need some info on what I have here, if anything. I'm a real amateur when it comes to errors and varieties, and I couldn't find this listed in the few sources I checked. Can anyone give me an idea what this is? The bright pics were with flash, the other without. Thanks in advance for your responses...Jeff.

Could use a clearer pic of the closeup shot of the mint mark. It is likely just a gas bubble under the copper plating (very common in 80s era cents) but might be a repunched mintmark. Would need a clearer image with less flash to wash out the details.

I checked here... http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...pe=mm&page=0

But nothing seemed to match

Check out the main forum for the photography section, some great coin imaging tips there.

It is a split plating and the zinc is starting to deteriorate. The mint mark punch leaft a fin on the mint mark area and the zinc is starting to rot.
