Poll Question
In my quest for a Trade dollar for my 7070, I have been sniped (barely outbid), flat out outbid, and failed to get my bid in on time. I have grown weary on the night shift at work missing out on some primo (IMO) Trade dollars (no ebay at work). I have instilled one of those "sniping" programs, no success yet. I am looking for some general advice on what the CCF members would do. A member previously mentioned "patience". I have been in a "dry spell" for about a month. "Other" has been placed for something that I have not thought of at the time of this posting.

Thanking you in advance!

Poll Choices
A decent looking slabbed coin with "details".
A raw coin with a return policy.
Lesser grade slab with no "issues", & upgrade later.
Move on to another coin for the album and come back to this one later.
 Other_______________________.

are you set on making it an ebay purchase or would you be willing to purchase from an online retailer?

I say wait, that's what I would do.

I'm the type of person where I'll wait until I find the perfect coin for the collection I'm working on.

A particular collection is more than finding all the coins and having the money to spend on them. It's the journeys and stories that come along with each coin. You want that coin to be YOURS, not a coin that is just there to fill in an empty hole.

Either way, it's definitely your decision. Just always make sure every purchase leaves you happy and proud of your addition.

I am going to have to say just keep trying, and I wouldn't buy a lesser coin that I want nor would I want a problem coin with details. Also raw Trade dollars can be very scary but if you know the person selling "knows what they are doing" and knows what to look for you can get some raw examples and be happy with them, but everyone makes mistakes and you have to remember that some of these fakes of this coin circulated right along side of the real thing so they are pretty convincing and even made of the same material (some even have more silver than the originals), so it takes someone that knows the series to be able to tell with confidence and that is why we try to suggest a graded example of this series to members

Wait, search some good on line vendors, go to a few coin shows, be patient, and you will prosper in the end. If ebay is your only source then you will either end up settling for what you can eventually win or possibly pass up a good deal with a vendor. I am not nocking ebay, I am just saying that patience and research does pay off.

Yes it is.

My recommendation would be a coin show, but that may not work for you. I do like the idea of expanding your search to include other online venues. It seems you have a good start with finding places to check.
