Does anyone have a good recommendation on Liberty Half Eagle, such as date, mint mark, etc? What spots should I look for to avoid so-call "cleaned" coins? I am looking for one to match my half Eagle SF old mint Commem. Thanks in advance!

Why not buy a 1906-S? Your SF commems are 2006-S, 100 years ago, common date, year of the San Francisco Earthquake, what more could you want? Buy an AU55 from PCGS or NGC and don't worry about cleaning. If you buy a raw one, show it to an expert or look for microscopic hairlines. Good luck!!!
