Hi all,

I was hoping someone could help me out with a question I haven't been able to find the answer to.

Why is it that I consistently see the 50% silver Canadian Commemorative dollars listed as both 23.3 grams AND .375 oz ASW?

23.3 grams = roughly .822 oz, and a .822 oz coin composed of 50% silver should come out to .411 oz ASW, not .375, shouldn't it? If anyone can shed some light on this discrepancy it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for clarifying! It seems so obvious now, but I'm still somewhat new to silver coins and it is immensely helpful to know ASW is calculated with troy ounces rather than standard ounces...
