I don't think I could pay that kind of money for a one cent peice even if it was mistakenly struck with a pink cow on it

The obverse is really great, just a quick question on the reverse. I can't seem to see any sign of multiple strikes there, so if the obverse is struck 4 times shouldn't the reverse show some sign of extra strikes, as well. Can someone explain how this happened please.

WOW. Saw this when listed. Followed it up to $450.00. Dreaming huh. This is a Monster. Could be the reverse was sitting on a blank or capped die struck coin. Can you believe what really rare and cool looking coins are actually worth. Gotta love this one. Gusp

Man the coin(s) I would buy beside this one if I had $6,200.00. Oh well, in coins as in life; To each his own.

JIMR... What would you purchase at 6200.00 dollars and why? Gotta admit that this cool is also past my reach. What ya got in mind? Please share with us. Imagine laying out this kinda money for a coin. I would think that you would seek something special. This coin qualifies as such, agreed? Buyer...Ya done real good~! Gusp

Hmm... Lets see. I would have a great time filling the holes in my 7070 for starters. Single coins that I would buy with $6,200 would be: 1901-S Barber quarter1916 SLQ 1793 Liberty Cap Half CentDraped bust dollar Gobrecht dollarAnd possibly a Dahlonega or Charlotte gold. Whats funny though is $6,200 would only buy a low grade circulation example for most of these coins. Gusp-I agree this coin is special and definetly one of a kind. I just personally don't get excited by the super error coins. Now a good double die or repunched date is a different story. I love those.

JimR...Yea me too. Love varieties. OMM, Overdates, Rare die marriages, patterns, ect. Also have always liked high grade Trade dollars and P.L. business strike coins. Ditto A real nice high grade flawless Snowball black and white Ultra deep heavy cameo proof coin from the early fiftys, and just about any Gem Ultra heavy cameo Gold proof from the old days. But $6200.00? I be dreaming. If I loved errors as much as hard core error collectors, I would certainly consider that cent to be one of the pre-emminent coins of its type. Congratulations to the owner. Nice coin. Someone else must have valued it nearly as much on the day it sold. Bet they wish they had bid more. Monster Cool coin anyways. Off the Hook. Gusp

The underbidder's feedback makes me nervous. Somebody else look at it and tell me I'm being paranoid.
