Grading Help On 1906 Proof Liberty (V) Nickel

paleoguy45 Pillar of the Community United States 2936 Posts	Posted 03/09/2012 10:49 am Just got this beauty in from my Hawaiian source and would like everyone's opinion as to grade. While not cameo, it is a beautiful golden color and Lady Liberty even has a Victorian birth mark (not a scratch - a discoloration ). Not to be confused with a flaw - it's a feature.. The field spot behind Liberty's head will likely take off a point and the cheek spot likewise would be a grade negative. Proof "flash" is very hard to photograph well so I assume this coin has better reflectivity than is shown in the photos. No cameo, as noted. TPGs are very tough on proofs; it's like they expect them to be perfect or something! In any case, this is a tasty little coin. Congrats! Report this Post to the Staff
