Just got this coin, and hope I made a good deal. I don't have the best camera, but after a few tries I got some good pics.

What do you guys grade it to? After comparing it to other Barber coins online I want it to be at least a VF-25.

New at this but I love the chase of a gem online...

, epikur!

Looks like au details with scratches. Unfortunately, the surface looks like sandpaper, which would make it a cast counterfeit. Sharper pix would help.

I would have ANACS authenticate it. After all, what better place to sell a fake than in a country where they're not familiar with the coin?

How much did you pay?

Bummer if it's a counterfeit

I'll take better pix during the week.

didn't buy it from over seas though, so if a fake, I'm just one in the chain of fools of gullible swedes. Did buy it from a coin dealer here in sweden so I thought the coin was legit (still hoping thogh it is)

didn't pay more than $40, so I thought I made a great find...

will post more pix soon.

I agree, it does look odd, the obverse especially.

Well it looks okay but I agree we need better photos, if it's rel that was a heck of a deal as it should sell for $250-400 in VF/EF. The roughness could be due to a cast fake or just rough handling. Or it could have been roughed up to hide the fact the date was altered from a more comon mintage. Have you weighed it out?
