I here you. I have one to that I bought last year but it was kind of like a new car to me, the "newness" wore off real fast. The good part about it is the fact that you get 25 rolls so it def easy to break a part and sell as you need. Mine stayed in the actual green box for all of a month before I realized I am limited on storage space in my curent safety deposit box and they stack very nice two tall. I never have to ask my wife about anything when it comes to investing our money. As long as she can continue to support our economy on the most BS things like $175 jeans she is happy, and when momma is happy the world is a truly better place :)

liking that pobox idea from me eh.

You might consider spending a bit more for a monster box of the Moose or Cougar silver maple leafs. That that much more expensive than ASE at the moment and will definitely appreciate more than ASEs do with their limited mintage.

OK, the deed is done! I stopped by the post office this morning and got my PO Box number and keys and then rushed home to place the order, expecting another drop in prices around 9-10 AM as always. I don't know what effect daylight savings time has on that, but I noticed that prices were dropping as of 8:00 and by 9:00 AM they seemed to have bottomed out and were starting to rise again. So I pulled the trigger at $32.85/ounce. Silver is now at $32.93, so I think I did OK. Of course, it will probably drop below $30 by 10:00, but what's done is done...

Now I just have to figure out how to send a bank wire to this place...

Dang it Barry, I was just gonna tell you after seeing this pullback to hold off for 32 even steven per oz., and maybe 30.....

A pullback to 30 is in real possibility now, but I figure it will hit a bottom low somewhere between 32 an 30, and then start back up again....

Sixty four thousand dollar question is what is that bottom line number before it starts back up again, IF it starts back up again at all, lol. Nothin carved in stone we will see what the rest of the week brings....

Oh well, if any of us had a crystal ball, we would already be so rich we would not even need to speculate, just is what it is....

Yeah, I know, I know. It's now at $32.06 and dropping like a stone through a wet paper bag. As long as nobody tells my wife and the price picks back up in a day or so I should be OK...

Check now only when you have more money to spend. It's what I do with stocks to keep sane.

A box today would cost you $17.375K today, starting to look real tempting.

Well, I told my wife what happened yesterday. In fact, before I bought the box, I told her what could happen (i.e., that the price could drop right after I bought it). I thought I would be safe based on the recent daily pattern of a dip just around 9-10 AM and then a bounce back up, but there was always the chance that the prices would plummet immediately after that.

Anyway, she seemed to take it in stride and agreed that what really matters is how it performs in the long run. I then joked that, with my luck, the price would soon drop back down to $25. Without hesitation she replied, "If that happens, buy another box!"

Basically, we are more or less financially stable right now (not a lot of debt, decent amount of money in savings, etc.) and are simply looking to convert some of the paper in the bank to other assets. We could go with stocks or real estate, but both seem too risky right now. And we both agree that PMs are the way to go (although she is still partial to gold over silver). We're not talking about converting our entire life savings, but perhaps 10-20% of it. Enough to make a difference if silver prices really do head northwards of $100 some day, but not enough to bankrupt us if the prices fall.

My only regret is that we weren't in this position 5-10 years ago...

Well glad you figured a way to buy. I never buy online for those reasons. I have purchased a few items from the mint. You know darn well those UPS guys know that return address. Also I'm sure they know the insurance value on them even if light and gold. Your wife sounds like how I feel about being followed from a local shop etc. I never buy a lot at one to put in my purse but you just never know who is watching or following. I never go straight home. I guess that all can help but with all the secret tracking etc. Just never know.
