I think it's f/vf with few distractions. I just wished the red overprints were a little brighter, but heck, it's over 100 years old!

Very fine example, the workhorse of the $20 notes during the 19th c. until finally overtaken by gold certificates and finally the new Federal Reserve notes in 1914.

@westersky that's a great note. Except for the 1914 and 1922, almost all the large size $20 are prohibitively expensive, but I may have to put this one back on my "wants" list.

New note for the collection. 1891 $1 Treasury Note (Fr 351, Tillman-Morgan). Thought about returning it for a minute because there are two small pinholes, but it is still an overall pleasing note to look at with no tears or rough edges, and the corners are still pretty good.

Fairly recent similar pickup. Stanton was kind of odd-looking, but he was a logistical genius and critical to the North's victory in the Civil War.
