Very nice for sure! The reverse inscription "To counterfeit is Death" was indeed true in England at the time, but I am not sure whether such a punishment was ever carried out in the colonies. Anybody have any input?

To Counterfeiting was the End.
New Jersey was an English Territory for the British Gouverment.
A colony is only good if it brings money.
The counterfeiter deceives the King. :-)
The British governor has prevailed English law.
In the colonies it was stricter than in England.
The US answer to King George III. was:
He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
And therfore Washingtons Continentals kickt the English Army out of the States.
I am a Croat and I know what it means to fight for your peoples right.
Our towns has been bombarded and plundered, the world has watched this and we knew that they would not help.
We have defended ourselves and now we have our place as a sovereign Nation in the world community.
At that time, Mr. Washington was a terrorist, today he is a patriot.
Money makes history.

Merry Christmas to me! 1891 $20 Silver Certificate "Manning" note. I've always loved this note and think it's one of the most artistic notes out there. Glad to finally have one.   |

Just won this one on the bay, I don't have it in hand so hard to tell how good it is but there were a few people bidding and so it was no bargain unless it turns out EF or better.   |

I got this as a Christmas gift from my husband. A friend from the local coin club had it for sale and I said I liked the eagle and the next time I saw it was on Christmas morning! I know nothing about it -- couldn't even find much info. in my crummy little book on currency.   It's not as yellow as it appears on my screen. Also, it has 3 folds as though it were folded in half and then in half again -- but only once -- maybe. |

This is a nice Federal Reserve Bank Note, Series of 1918, issued by the FRB of San Fransisco. It is Friedberg 746 (signatures of Ambrose and Calkins). Very nice and congrats. These are usually referred to as "Green Eagle" notes.
