This one can be a bit tricky because 1872's are notoriously poorly struck. This is one of my favorite low grade pieces, especially because it's a very scarce key date. In lower grades, 2¢ pieces usually look like junk and have plenty of problems. This has none to speak of and is a very rare find. I brightened up the image just slightly.

Wow That is a very nice problem-free low grade key date 2 center! You are right, most of them in grades that low are just plain ugly, but not this one. I would give it a G4

This coin has to be partly graded from the reverse. I think it's a Good 6. The reverse appears to be VG with nice rims and nice grain details. The obverse is weakly struck like many of those of this year. The date is very bold and not weak that would be indicative of an AG3.
