I have decided to compile a list of the Australian ebay sellers of PMD 'error coins'. I've done some work on it this morning and have 5 sellers so far. If you come across any 'dodgy' looking coins on ebay, either PM me a link or the sellers ID, or post a link to the sale here and I'll follow up from there. I've managed to 'build' quite a list of completed items from one prolific PMD manufacturer and will probably send it off to ebay, advising them that this person is a germ and should be banned forever. Please help me to stamp out these creeps. life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

Thanks, he's on my list. But by all means keep them coming. My list is called " ebay Germs". If anyone wants to see what info I've got so far, I'm happy to share it, but will need an email address to send it to, but please, do not post your Email address here, send me a PM if you have enough posts.

Thanks apple, another germ for my list. I see the same seller has another similar coin: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ERROR-2-CEN...em519a430acaBoth look like they've had an acid bath. I think I may have bought something from this seller quite some time ago, but not 100% sure, and certainly won't buy from them now. Just finished checking my feedback, no purchases from this seller, thank goodness. One more thing, this latest germ has had 3 different ebay ID's so far, changed to the current one 12 Mar 2012.

Nancy, How do you/we determine "deliberate fraud" vs. "mistaken seller"? We have had people on the forum mistaken about what they had, they could possibly list their items on ebay too.

I would hope that our members would get an error checked out or post it here before they put an item up on ebay. Most of our Fellow CCFers post a pick as soon as they find something But if you are looking for something really FAKE just PM me or AJ an we'll make it for ya

What my question was getting at, is... If you can determine that someone is doing something which is deliberately trying to rip people off (eg the "jesus" $1 PMD coin with the free yak bone) then those people should not be dealt with at all - they may well pull some other deliberate rip off. If on the other hand someone posts something they genuinely believe is an error (even though it is not) then dealing with them otherwise is probably safe. Alternatively, you can say - "They posted something incorrectly and I will never deal with them". I guess it comes down to how you want to use the list.

When all is said and done, everyone has to make their own mind up as to whether or not they wish to deal with a particular seller.
As I was doing a bit of research on the last one I added to my list, I realized the seller had a few genuine errors that I would normally try for, but after seeing the hype in the description of a couple coins that look like they've been in an acid bath, plus the recent change in ID's, well, my decision is not to give that seller any of my money.
What someone else decides is entirely up to them.

I sent the seller a message advising that it's not an error, so what happens now is anyone's guess.
If the seller is honest, it'll be taken down.
