We have seen some lovely rotations, so far (maybe more to come) at https://goccf.com/t/127651&whichpage=11. What I would like to see is a coin rotation clock; 1o'clock. 2 o'clock....11 o'clock and easy peasy. I have read, in the past, that some people have been trying but, has anyone succeeded? I would love to see a group like that. I think 50¢ would be a good candidate as they can only have multiples of 30° rotation -unless something has gone drastically wrong (send all those to me, I know what one looks like and I lust after that error). with hope, Jeff

Jeff, I have seen a photo if a clockface of 2001 $1. I only know of 1 type of rotated 50c and that is 30 degrees, so I dont think a clockface would be possible

I've seen quite a few rotated Elizabeth II pennies, but not seen all possible clockface positions in the one place - someone must collect them..... I'm gathering an assortment of the 2001 COF dollars, though the 6 o'clock and 11 o'clock are the hardest ones to find

My old coin dealer in Texas, Robert Wilharm, had at least one of those clocks. He also had a complete collection of Lincoln memorial blank planchets, in a date series. I asked him how he knew a planchet was from from that particular date, and he told me he found every single one while roll and bag hunting. He use to write/edit an old error cent magazine, Error-Variety News, with Wexler I believe.

I recall seeing someone had a full clock-rotation set of 1962 pennies for sale a year or so ago, will have a look and see if I kept any info on it.

My upsets by approximate degrees are: 75, 110, 120, 150, 155, 180, 220, 270, 280, 285, 300, 325.
I'm not sure what 'hours' I'd need to make a clock-face.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

Depends if it was flipped sideways or top-to-bottom between two photos.

The correct way to flip would be to hold top and bottom and turn around vertical axis.

just cover hole with sticky tape to hold coin in place and then turn the whole lot around and you can see where the other side is ..

Quote: I recall seeing someone had a full clock-rotation set of 1962 pennies for sale a year or so ago, will have a look and see if I kept any info on it. I read something on a clock face for pennies - date not given - in Hanley and James' Collecting Australian Coins, which came out around 1966. On page 122 there is mention of upset pennies for 1950, 1962 and 1963 as well as 1962 Halfpenny and also on the 1952 Florin. The book goes on to mention that in 1964 a complete clock face was withdrawn from an auction after the bidding reached 25 pounds.....back then you could get a VF 1923 halfpenny for 20 pounds
