This is such a big find I thought it deserves its own topic. I just picked up a box of nickels from my favorite bank (same one I got the box with all the old proof Jeffersons). I opened it up to find 24 ROLLS THAT HAVE A BUFFALO ON THE END. Most of them look worn possibly dateless, I haven't opened a single roll yet. Thought I would make this topic first. I'll post results in a couple hours. As you can tell I'm VERY EXCITED!

I can't WAIT to hear about this! This thread might be the incentive I need to get back and finish my nickel survey! Please tell us all about what you find.

I got my first box of nickels last week, only find was a very worn 29-D Buffalo, only the 29 of the date was legible. Looks like you will at least get the most buffalo's found in a box.

Okay, I've just finished up the box and have calmed down a bit, and I must say that it was as good if not much better than I expected it to be. Take a look! What you are seeing there is the results of this one box. There's about 550 buffalos there! As I expected, most of them grade AG-G. Probably not one in the lot that grades above VF. The stacks of buffs you see on the right all have readable dates, with about half of those of those only being partially visible. The stacks on the left are all no-dates, with no visible mintmark. The three stacks in the back have no date, but have a mintmark. (the best stuff is probably in these) Not shown is the pitiful little stack of pre-60 Jeffs I found. Also I was surprised that I found hundreds of buffalos, but no V nickels! strange indeed. Now I must begin the painstaking process of taking inventory of what dates/mints I've got. Usually that's something I would do as I searched through the rolls, but I was so awestruck that all I could really do at the time was keep stacking them up as they came with little regard to organization. I'll post a detailed list of dates a little later. Also, please be patient with me as the only device I can use to take pictures with is my iPod, which of course is very low quality. I'll keep you updated!
