So I found a guy who used to collect error coins and he showed them to me. He has i'd guess 200-300 of them. Every error that I could think of, from blank planchets, MAD, Off centers, die breaks, double dies, missing FG, Grease Filled Dies with tons of stuff missing, s over s, and TONS of each. He told me that he would sell me any that I wanted for $5 each. So I'm curious as to which I should get? Which would be worth more than $5 premium? I already bought 9 of them. I got an offset where just the very edge of the strike is on the planchet. Two 1972p double dies. Three 1955s with a die break on the 55. A 1941s double die. A 1969s machine double die. And another 1969s probably MDD but the very bottom of the ear looks doubled but I'm sure that it's just wishful thinking, it's most likely MDD. Here are some photos of a few of them. Sorry for the quality, I scanned them with my scanner. Some of the errors are difficult to see. Any feedback at all would be greatly appreciated! Sorry for so many pictures! I'm just trying to be thorough. So for $5 each which errors should I try to buy? or should I try to get all of them? Also did I get anything good there? Any idea which variety 1972 those are? I looked at copper coins but had a hard time telling. Thanks

What about large die cracks? The ones that look like lines across the cent? Or what about the 1955 that I posted? I got three of them that look just like that. Waste of money?

None of the coins you show are worth $5 each, I would pass on them all. Going by what you have shown the guy doesn't have enough knowledge in the field of errors and varieties. With all do respect you should do some research before you start buying coins,it will pay off in the future. John1

The 1955 with a die chip in the 5 might sell for a dollar on ebay if your lucky. Same holds true for the die cracks. The 1972 and 1969 are Machine Doubling or die chatter and are worthless

Even the MADs are not worth $5 each.

Nothing I would consider spending money on. You'll find these yourself by going through rolls or in the bins at shows.

For 5 dollars each you should investigate before buying coins especially errors and die varieties. You spent 45 dollars for coins all together not even worth a dollar. Lesson learned I guess.

Ouch... :-(
Indeed, these are not what you think they are (they're not the collectible form of doubling).

Ouch ... please ... purchase no more.
You have been taken advantage of ... at $5 per coin there is nothing seen above worth IMHO much more than the value the USA Mint placed on it ... 1 cent.
Knowledge is power ... stay here and our experts can help support your growth ... for now ...
Please do not purchase any more of these from that 'expert' in errors.

If you look closely enuf, the rare coins are the few that don't have errors. If you need major magnification to find an error, it's worth about a quarter.
