I have been learning and even testing myself by looking at posts on here on my abilities to distinguish DDO/MDD. Then I read the comments to see if I am correct or not. Although I am torn between these two coins that I have, can anyone with more expertise lend their knowledge or even random options? When I bought them they were labeled as Double Die.

Really hard to tell by your photos. 1972 is known for it's master die hub doubling and that's what yours looks like to me. Check here http://coppercoins.com/advsearch.php

Any chance to get clearer close-up's on IN GOD WE TRUST? That would give us a better idea. For now I have to agree with John.

So master die hub doubling is a true double die? not a machine double? And yes I will try to get a clearer picture of the IGWT.

If the doubling you are seeing is like this, then it is master die doubling. Common for this year and on all three mints coins.
