Not sure if anyone has posted this yet.

I have been waiting for the Dansco Jefferson nickel update page to come out. Because my current Dansco with proof only issue stops and 2011 S.

I just saw listed on jakes coin supplies that Dansco split the album,
8113 will run from 1938 - 2005 the new album will cover 2006 to date.

Both of these new albums are out of stock. I am curious how they will handle the page layout. On my current (I guess old album now) album has 18 holes after the last 2005 S coin, on the last page.

Anyone have any other information or thoughts on this change?

The Lincoln cents album is similarly breaking at 2009. I posted a thread about all the upcoming changes.

The last page of the new 8113 will have 18 unlabeled holes. Some other forum members have suggested using them for the older proofs that do not currently have holes in the album. They have update pages available if you want the one without the dated holes.

I think they decided to make the break because it was a natural spot, and it was a virtual necessity for some of the albums to split eventually. The Lincoln cents albums are going to be maxing out their largest binder size. It also makes sense for the 7113 (circulation only) and the 8113 (circulation plus proof) to split at the same spot.

@GR58: There's also some discussion about the Dansco nickel albums (specifically 8113 and the forthcoming 8114) in the following thread starting about halfway down page 2:

As I have mentioned before, having the Jefferson nickel albums end at 2005 is a natural break-point in the series. 2005 is the end of the Westward Journey nickels, 2006 is the beginning of the new obverse "Return to Monticello" nickels. Actually, I would argue that 2003 is a better break point, but what do I know.

That would leave more empty holes on the last page. Same issue with the Lincoln Cent albums.

Yes, but it ends that Jefferson nickel album with the original design.

If Dansco would have put 36 nickels on a page, instead of 35 (what is up with that bottom row?) then it would fit.

My Dansco with proofs is complete up to 2011 S.

I am not going to get the replacement page .. just to have blank .. empty holes.

I am leaving those coins in the album.. at least for now.

When I do get the new album ...starting 2006 .. I will put duplicate coins for those same years.

At least now I can say the 1938 - 2006(2011) album is complete ..
