I had to share this, because Christmas came early today!

My aunt and uncle (who are in their late 60's) decided to downsize their house and move to a condo. (note: they are also my godparents)

They called me up to come over, and suprised me with a large box. When I asked them what was in it, they said it was to be left to me when they died, but decided to give it to me now, so they did not have to move it.

That's right...loaded to the top with coins!

I never even knew they had this, as it was my uncles fathers collection.

The really really really cool part was 7 boxes of Montreal olympic coins (4 each) and a 1967 set, with the $20 Gold!

I have not calmed down enough to go through the rest yet.

I will post pics of anything overly cool, including the 67 set later today!

Sorry for rambling on, but I had to tell someone!

You have about $2,000 worth of coins just in the Olympic set and the 1967 set (with gold coin).

I'm curious to know what else is in there!

As soon as I get home, I will take some and post.

My apologies if this post comes across as boasting. Not meant to, but this is the kind of thing one only hopes will happend to them.

Tks!

No apologies necessary motoyoda, you have been blessed by your aunt and uncle that's great in itself.

Great stuff, show us a few pics when you can.
Rest in Peace

What a great time to show your appreciation by helping in the move and to get them settled. As godparents they promised to care for you. Now it"s your turn.
Love to see the up-date.

Okay...here are the pics..sorry for the quality, but thats life with the Blackberry. I will post more / better later after I make it through the box.

Below are the 67 set and the 7 olympic series. Some of those even have the inspector tag in them! The first six have their cardboard sleeves, but the seventh does not. I am not sure if there are more than 7?

Woah, that 20$ is gorgeous.

I like the big case in which you put all 28 coins of the Olympics better than the separate 7 cases.

Really nice!
