So I decided to build a make shift "light box" to use with my digital point and shoot. I used an old cardboard box, cut a hole in the top to fit my lens through, and cut a hole on the side to let light in. I then applied Mylar to all sides and the top, in order to reflect light as best as possible. How well do you think it works, as far as grading and quality? I experimented with all kinds of angles and bulbs. I'm finding it somewhat difficult to get enough light in.

As you can see, I dont think I was getting enough light in. Below are more recent attempts.

I have a sneeking suspicion that the diffused light from the the white insides of the box would have a tendency to light hairline scratches from all angles, and so tend to hide the scratches.

Perhaps the inside of the box should be sprayed with matt black paint to avoid this.

Fuzzy posted a great set up in a thread titled " small light box ". It was brilliant in its simplicity.
