so I just counted my container of error coins. I have almost $30 face value of error coins. I'm thinking of selling them off and buying something else since I have more than 1 which is why I have a container full. Should I just chuck a bulk lot on ebay? or try and sell them off individually. What would you guys do

I'd try to make up some small sets of say up to 5 or 6 of each error, but with all different dates.
Test the water with a couple sets and see how they go.

4ddrft: Before unloading all of them, I apply some circumspection. No doubt, some errors are scarcer than others. Perhaps there are one or two which may be quite valuable or rare, or both, and could be very hard or impossible to replace in your collection.
For example, bitten edges or misstruck errors of current curculating coins may not be worth much. If you have something more exotic, like a 100 year old perfect brockage, a wrong planchet or an off metal strike, it may be well worth keeping. The choice is yours.

I would start them at 99c. It seems for some reason that auctions started at a low price get a higher end price. I agree with nancy that you should sell them in small groups. One large bulk lot is rarely a good way to sell.

I also agree, sell them as small groups or individual. I sold a bunch of dollar coin rabbit/bunny ear errors a while back. The sell price varied from 0.97c through to $4.25. You could list them a little higher because sometimes people will pay a little more. Just keep re-listing them. I was selling $50 first prefixes for $56.56 (covering ebay & paypal costs), they sold for close to $60, so in the future I'll probably list them at $59.95 (depending on the scarcity). The idiocracies of the numbers...it's just me...maybe it does work.
