I found this in pocket change a few months ago, its either an error or someone messed with it somehow but I will say it is not been ground into, this is sticking up from the monument. any ideas?

Agreed with Metalman...this is a case of something having been done to the coin after it left the mint.

yes I posted it on treasure net also but didnt get many replies or enough opinions to come to a conclusion.

I think it has been added also and I only say that because it looks like it sits on TOP of the monument and you would think it would have had to do some damage around the monument but like I have stated before... I am just getting into coins, learning though!

as far as being solder, my personal feelings is it is not solder, whatever it is, very hard material, I thought maybe J.B. weld but I am not sure what j.b. weld would look like if you ground on it which it does appear this has been ground on but then something else that got me wondering, if it was ground on most likely wouldnt you see some effects to the coin from getting it hot?

Thank you guys for your input, I was just very unsure but you guys do seem to be experts!! thanks!
