Here's my latest purchase and I'd appreciate some help with the grade.
The coin has some dark areas on the obverse. Do these detract from the grade? Is it possible that the entire obverse of the coin was very dark and some areas were cleaned? (I hope not).
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I am thinking that this coin has been "wiped" recently to remove the dark "stuff" off of the obverse. Cleaned? I don't think so. Could be a candidate for an Acetone bath. Other more experienced members are sure to chime in.

I would grade it as an XF40. Would look nice in my 7070!

If it has been wiped at one time, it retains nice eye appeal.
That will look nice in your album!

VF35 I agree with an acetone bath on this coin too, couldn't hurt and just might help somewhat, but I think the darker areas are still going to show through, just not as bad.
