Kiau Chau-German held territory in China 1897-1914. The coin appears good- the metal is copper-nickel,so the greenish copper spots could appear. I am not familiar with the purple or white colouring on copper-nickel (more usually on zinc or on tin) but it certainly is possible. I don't see anything that would make it a forgery.

I'd say it's genuine too. Probably spent quite a while in the dirt.

In my opinion it's the genuine coin. But there is always some doubts. Especially when you bought a rare coin for only 30$...
