Those are some pretty ugly cents. There are people that build sets of the ugliest coins, so there is some interest in them.

wquinn....You mean to tell me there are people out there that collect these type of " ugly" coins as a hobby....  So far the posts have been more " ugly" than I expected.

I am one of "those" people. I used to get rid of these ugly, crusted, road rash, train squished, rusted, rotted coins. Then one day I thought, what the heck, save them. I now have about 50 really horrible looking coins.

Two of those last Zincolns almost look like ancient Roman coins.  Except it didn't take 1500+ years of burial to look that way.
