Poll Question
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, my coin budget has been put on a lea$h and the local coin show is in a couple of weeks. I am considering trading a few problem coins and am wondering if dealers might consider these for trade.

So, if you are behind the booth and I pick something and offer a trade, would you consider:

Nickel 1886 ANACS 6 Countermarked Good Details
Would-These-Two-Pass-Muster-For-A-Trade? Would-These-Two-Pass-Muster-For-A-Trade?

1835 Capped Liberty 5c Holed, Raw
Would-These-Two-Pass-Muster-For-A-Trade? Would-These-Two-Pass-Muster-For-A-Trade?

Poll Choices
 1886 Nickel Only
 1835 Capped Liberty 5c Only
 Would consider both for trade
Would not consider either for trade - you are nuts!

I would like to add that I think I can be realistic in what they could get for a trade.

Some people don't mind getting damaged coins for a bargain. I, for one, steer clear of that stuff.

I do not buy them, but if it fits a hole, and the price is right, do it!
Rest in Peace

I didn't vote because I would not call you nuts. Try ebay at .99 cent opener and take what you can get.

OK, non-dealer here attempting a SWAG at how a dealer might think...I put the 1886 in the display case for $50 and sell it to the first person that offers $35. Half Dime goes in the case at $20 and sells for $12. Then I want a 200% margin because they could be there forever. So that puts my cost at about $16. If I'm interested at all, might be OK with $20 in retail trade value, maybe a couple bucks more if you happen to pick something I got for a song.

If nothing more, that's a stake in the ground that others can chime in as to whether it's too high or low.

Might do better on ebay if it's worth the hassle to you and you want to avoid being shot down 80% of the time at the show.

I appreciate everyone's input .

Since we don't need to sell to cover bills, I am not going the ebay way. I was trying to think of coins that I might actually be willing to let go since I have no budget for the show. I most likely will keep them - there is always next year!
