Just curious, what do you think has been done to this coin ? Dipped and whizzed perhaps ? I have to give the guy an A for presentation...

The color is unnatural. I'd guess a combination of chemical cleaning and polishing.

Some sort of chemical dip and polishing. Possibly whizzed.

There's your sign!

Sometimes lighting can have an effect on the true color of a coin, but the surfaces look rubbed to me, enough for me to think it is not natural.

Yeah, I agree, artificial color.

And, if someone don't acknowledge your question, forget it.

It's too bad, the penny has such good bones left and he just ruined it. Almost all of his Indians were like that and he usually got around 9.95 for em. People just weren't taking his bait.

It's in nice condition though - full Liberty and diamonds and the ribbon is separated from the hair curls.
