Without making some effort, they may continue to fill-up storage at the mint and the $1 note would live forever.

As far as actually getting these things to circulate, the lady at the gas station (who I've given half dollars many times) commented that she has trouble getting people to accept them... at least that means she's trying to give them out!

And here I thought I was alone in my endeavor.

I found this site while looking for information on half dollars and was excited to see more people trying to promote dollar coins and half dollar. I've been using both of those over the past two months or so just for fun, trying to increase people's awareness. Seeing people are doing the same will definitely make it a lot easier to get past the weird looks you sometimes get when using these in public. I'll make sure to keep track of my usage from here on out.
