When I spent the dollar coin at Taco Bell, the cashier said "Did you really intend to spend this golden dollar?". I guess he thought they were just collectibles.

Spent $2.50 in halves at McDonalds for lunch.

Spent $10.50 in halves at the Klements Sausage outlet store in the hood.

Stopped at a grocery store in the hood to get some beer since it was on the way to the freeway and I didn't want to spend anymore time on side streets there than I had to if I went to a different store.

Spent $21.50 in halves.

The teenage girl asks if they are dollars. I said "No, they are half dollars. 50 cents." I stack them in piles of $5. After a minute of counting she asks if they were half dollars. I said "Yes. 50 cents. 2 in a dollar." Halfway through counting a 3rd time she asks if they are fifty cents because she thought the said 1 dollar. I explain it again. She says that there is only $11 there and points to the stacks of 4 coins each she piled them in. I go through it again with her

At this point she says she has to ask if she can take them because she is obviously confused behind comprehension. She calls the service desk and as usual the manage tells them they have to take them. The cashier gives up trying to count and just puts them in the register.

I will have to give her half credit because at least she went out to look for a job, got hired, and at least showed up instead of calling in with some dumb excuse why they are not responsible or just plain not showing ever again and not telling the manager so they can schedule someone else.
