Spent $5 in halves for breakfast at Mcdonalds.

Spent $15.50 in halves add dollar coins including 1 Ike at Walmart.

The cashier girl picked up the Ike adn asked what it was. I told her a dollar. She lookeda the prez dollars and figured out they were a dollar as well. She counted the halves and then asked if they were a dollar. I told her no they were 50 cents. I said there is $15.50 there. She pretended to count the halves again and threw them all in the drawer.

$35,421.50 to go.

corrected total

Oh man, I've probably spent over $100 in dollar coins at work in the vending machine over the past 4 years. Didn't even think to post here.

Anyway, I did just spend $10 in halves for bales of straw.
The cashier thought they were dollar coins, I had to tell her they were just 50c...

I get a kick out of you guys having to tell so many clerks that they're not dollar coins when you spend halves.

I figure let them think they are dollars, for how often it will happen, it will not hurt the stores bottom line. Maybe the universe is trying to give you a break, and you are giving it back.

The CCF motto is "Education is the key to success!" Although the cashiers would be educated either way, this way no one is harmed.

It seems as if someone would know. Tellers never mistake them but cashiers do. The jobs are quite similar but the knowledge is not.

Tellers handle cash/money all day. Many times the cashiers I come in contact with also wait tables, so money is not their only thing.
